28 Years of Military Service
Paul retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army with more than 28 years of service, culminating in an assignment as the Chief of the U.S. Army’s Senate Liaison Division with the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs.
Paul was an Army Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the Director of the U.S. Army’s Strategic Planning Division for the Chief of Army Public Affairs. He is a trained aviator with a distinguished record of performance leading soldiers on multiple combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and supporting Gold Star and wounded warrior families.
A History of Corporate Leadership
Paul has previously worked within The Livingston Group as a lobbyist and as the Chief Operating officer for the Army Distaff Foundation and Knollwood Life Plan Community, a senior living community in Washington, DC. At Knollwood, he managed an annual budget of $26 Million and 140 employees. He successfully lobbied U.S. Congress and the District of Columbia on critical healthcare issues facing veterans and seniors. Additionally, at Knollwood, his tireless leadership to protect the lives of staff and residents – the most vulnerable population – at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, led to coverage in US News and World Report, National Public Radio, and other media outlets. He has also been a featured guest speaker with Leading Age and other aging networks.
Paul has a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University, and a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from Golden Gate University. He received his undergraduate education in 1984 from Michigan State University.
